Using the tool
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes. Use Upload Folder to pick every image in a folder. When they are done you can download them all as a single ZIP file.
Which formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG and WEBP, up to 15 MB per file.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens in your browser; your files never leave your device.
Results and quality
What format are images converted to?
All images are saved as JPG. When needed, resolution is reduced as well to reach the target size.
What happens to transparent PNGs?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. To keep transparency, use the PNG output of the background removal tool.
Is the target size hit exactly?
Vanixa tries to get the result under the size you choose: it lowers quality first, then resolution if needed. With very small targets the image dimensions can shrink noticeably.
